Gemcitabine
Gemcitabine (difluorodeoxycitidine) is an antimetabolite that stops cells from making RNA and DNA. It is most often used to treat breast, bladder or pancreatic cancer. There are currently clinical trials testing its effectiveness in mesothelioma treatment. It has been tested along with vinorelbine as second-line treatment (see navelbine/vinorelbine).
