Anemia

Anemia means low red blood cells. The red cells transport oxygen throughout your body. When you don’t have enough red blood cells, you don’t have enough oxygen. You can become fatigued, and if you are losing blood, you can die if your red blood cells get too low. Anemia is common when you have mesothelioma, and chemotherapy can make it worse. There are medications to help treat anemia.
